In 2004, we watched many of our friends getting married. (We got married that year too.) They were ending up with rooms in their rented homes and apartments, literally packed with presents they had registered for. The unopened boxes sat, waiting for the day when the couples could open them in a home they owned.

Sitting around with a group of friends one night, we did the math, and realized that if these couples cashed in all of those boxed gifts, they would have had enough money for a down payment on a home!

And so OurBigWish.com was born.

Our hope is that by offering this service, with us, couples, family, and friends across the globe can join us in starting a new tradition in Bridal Registries. No longer will couples have only the option of a blender and a new set of towels.

Now, friends and family will know that the gift they give through OurBigWish.com will go towards building a solid foundation for their loved ones.

Because…who needs another toaster—when you could have a home?!
